I'm waiting too, Try. It's easy being buddies when things are going good, but when the wins don't come it's every man for himself. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the Bengals start 0-2. That's when people will begin wondering where it went wrong.

Is everybody ready for a full weekend of football. I got primed up by watching a high school game yesterday. Lots of enthusiasm.

This morning I'm pulling for all of the AFC South teams that are playing the NFC East, so good luck to the Colts and the Texans.

I admit that it's only the first of 16 games between the two divisions, but it's a step in the right direction.

Yeah, I can hardly wait to see how far the Seahawks will tumble in the (worthless) power rankings this week.

Actually the AFC was dominate this weekend. They won 6 out of 7 against the NFC. The only NFC winner was Green Bay who was my pre-season pick for the NFC to the superbowl. Of course I had the Ravens in the AFC and I might need to rethink that. lol

Kicks, I'm impressed with the Ravens too. They have a defense that hurts people. If my memory serves me right (it isn't what it used to be), defense becomes more and more important as the season goes on and injuries pile up. The Ravens once proved that it is possible to win the Super Bowl with no defense at all. I wouldn't write them off yet.

Em,

Its been a crazy couple of weeks to be certain. I can't tell anything yet. Up is down and left is right. You guys beat the Colts soundly and then they DESTROYED the Giants. I am nervous about playing the Colts next week but I don't expect too much (as I have said) this year from the Broncos. If you would have said the Cowboys would be 0-2 and the Dolphins would be 2-0, I would think you went mad. One thing for sure, I love football and I actually watch almost any game that they put on the tube. It should be a helluva year.

The Saints are the real deal. We played them in preseason and they were the only team that just outclassed us. I don't know why people don't show them more respect. Most of the sport writers are ready to just give the NFC championship to the Packers, but they are going to have to earn it.

Going by what I've seen on the field and final scores...yep. They're the real deal. Packers are not slouches either, however.

Green Bay is playing as good a football as any right now. Aaron Rodgers has been impressive.

The Packer who has impressed me is Clay Matthews. He's ferocious! He has family connections to Houston and was expected to be our first draft choice last year. Instead, the Texans took Brian Cushing. He made defensive rookie of the year, but got a four-game suspension. Fortunately, we've made it though half of that suspension, but we'll be glad to get him back.

Cowboys and Vikings 0 and 2, Bears, TB and TX's at 2 and 0 - some surprises this season. Although the TX's don't surprise me at all - been steadily improving since Kubiak took over....

On the Ravens, believe that was a SB team w/ NO offense - as in Trent Dilfer. Billick was always a great D minded coach imo. Didn't get to see their game yesterday so not sure what to make of them or the Bengals at this point.

Looking forward to the game tonight - well, if I can stay awake till half time. Up way too late last night but worth the late hour :D ....

Lady, I stand corrected. I did mean no offense, of course, but somehow there was a slip between the thought and the print. I think that my thought just runs way ahead of my typing. Congratulations on the most convincing win last night. I've never seen Peyton look more totally in control. I think that the only way to beat him is to keep the ball away from him.

A quick look after two games in the bag:

Dolphins = only team with two road wins (1 of only three teams to start with 2 road games)
Dolphins = least amount of points allowed (Steelers tied)
Texans = highest amount of points scored

The Texans statistics are ridiculously lopsided. They are first in points scored, total offense and rushing yards and sixth in passing offense. They are second in rushing defense. On the bad, bad side, they are worst in the NFL - by a MILE - in pass defense. They have a good pass rush, but the defensive backs are terrible and so is their coaching. If they want to have a winning season they will have to fix that.

Oh man. Reggie Bush has a broken leg and out for at least 6 weeks...wow. That might hurt the Saints a little. That is really too bad. I like Bush.

Oh yes. I was just sick about Bush being hurt. ((((((Looks around, hoping SteveCo is somewhere far away right now))))) Lying through her teeth  I just pray his absence won't slow that amazing team down any.

Actually (for real this time), with or without Bush, I have not seen the intensity the team had last year, and do not believe they can keep that pace up this year...
