A pirate walks into a bar with a ships wheel attached to his zipper.

The bartender asks “What’s up with that?”

The pirate replies “Arrrrr, its drivin me nuts…”

When they start handing out suspensions, they will start to get their attention.

Yeah.. the fines only mean that they get one dessert rather than two that night. Its chump change. As opposed to rump change (don't ask.. its a prison thing).

Valentine's Day is B.S. and I don't celebrate it. Nothing but a reason for FTD, jewelers and restaurants to make a buck and for couples to get into fights because he didn't do enough on this ONE stupid day to show her he cares.

You're hilarious. I would thank you for them. But please save your money.

Honestly. Valentine's Day is NOT my thing. It feels like a day that is FORCED on people. When I was married, my wedding anniversary was my personal Valentine's Day. I don't need Zales to tell me or my mate when we need to "show 'em you love 'em."

;) I know your point of view on this as we've discussed it before. If I'm in a relationship, my partner will more than likely be getting flowers on V day, HOWEVER she will probably be getting them about 25-30 other times throughout the year just because....

I've always liked Valentine's Day. It gives me an excuse to do something that I like to do anyway.I've always liked to give Godiva chocolates. I got their latest catalog in the mail yesterday.

I'm just waiting to see if they are going to throw a flag at Favre for an incident ;) that allegedly occurred over 2 years ago. :? There is no doubt there was a personal foul  between favre and her. :| He was stupid to send her pictures (of what they are saying is his teenie weenie)(((((Looking for smiley of a very small penis))))), but she is clearly a woman scorned  . The NFL should have removed itself from the situation immediately :!: , NOT made a production and looked to punish Favre for it :P .

The Swiss Family ought to be hoping the NFL steps back on this one, if for no other reason but to save itself from my rants on the subject. I shall go Postal (apologies to tenn) (((((Looking for the icon to cross words out like we had at The Olde Switzerland)))))--or should I say "I shall go bonkers" if the NFL suspends Favre as is the speculation by the pundits today on NFL Radio. I was yelling back at the radio the entire time I was in my car. From what I could gather, they met with Favre (and probably his attorney), but the buttheads are 'taking it under consideration' and not entering any ruling as of now. Perhaps they will just keep in 'under consideration' for the remainder of the season...

I have no issues with investigations, Lady. Of course I believe allegations should be looked into and examined for legitimacy. My problem with this particular event is the timing of the complaint(s) and the bruhaha surrounding the so-called investigations. WTF? Two years later, with all of the bells and whistles sounding? It just wreaks of woman/women scorned, if you follow my thoughts. Where is all this coming from (after the fact!) and why? No, not just 'why,' but 'whys.' It just sounds like a gang rape--and the one being raped is Favre. Something's just not kosher in this kitchen. :x

TT: I am beginning to wonder! I posted before in response to what I believed was a post by LadyHawk regarding the issue of problems--NFL and/or otherwise--on the issue of sexual harassment... I suppose, under the circumstance that no post is up there now, it would appear that I AM losing my mind.
I think I shall just tip-toe out of here, gently closing the door behind me. Good seeing you, sir... :D

No ma'am. You are not losing your mind. I wrote what I wrote and then decided to respectfully delete it. I won't go into further detail because I feel like this "discussion" just goes in circles. Soo...to keep the peace, I'll keep my opinion to myself and wait for the "truth" to come forward.

Brian Urlacher:

"It's freaking football. There are going to be big hits. I don't understand how they can do this after one weekend of hitting. And I can't understand how they can suspend us for it. I think it's a bunch of bull.

"You know what we should do? We should just put flags on everybody. Let's make it the NFFL - the National Flag Football League. It's unbelievable."

Antrel Rolle:

"It's fine for the offensive players but I'm on the defensive side of the ball. So are you telling me that now I have to slow down? I think we're already being cautious of what we're doing and how we're attacking the ball or how we're trying to make a tackle. I think that's absolutely ridiculous because under any circumstances you can't just absolutely have control over your body when you're pursuing a tackle.

"This is the game of football. This is a game of speed. This is a game of power. This is a game of physical guys going to battle. Once you start saying to guys 'You'll get suspended for a game,' that's when you're going to get a very, very tentative football game."

I whole heartedly agree with both statements.

Like it was said before, NO ONE is forcing these guys to play in the NFL. They are making hundreds of thousands/ millions of dollars each season to sacrifice their bodies to play a sport. If you don't wanna take the risk and get hit, then don't play in the NFL.

P.S. People DO get injured in flag football...

its all about the liability issue...older pensioned players dont get adequate medical care...its a league issue that needs to be fixed...they seem to make enough money on this game... to pay pensions and medical...the players and owners need to address this issue in the cba...fining someone for a legal hit is wrong...i dont care how bad it looks on tv...

I'm obviously a minority of one on this issue. I'm not so desperate to be entertained that I want people to risk permanent injury so I can get vicarious thrills from the collisions. I promise to shut up about it from now on.

i guess i wasnt clear...the NFL makes the rules...the players...coaches...and owners have to abide by them...fining someone or suspending them for an illegal hit is ok by me...

I guess that I wasn't clear. I wasn't responding to your post, dred. In fact, I agree about the liability. Beyond that, I would hate to see it get so bad that the government would step in, as has happened before.
