I can't believe 3rd and 1and Manning fires a pass 12 yards down field and under throws it. DT should have had a TD pass underthrown and bad pass on the INT. Brock will have the ball in the second half I know it's 2nd teamers but the offense should be all kub's.

Yep...it may be preseason, but Peyton usually performs great in the preseason. Glad Brock is starting to hit his stride, case Peyton has to be replaced. I'm hopeful, though. Everything I've heard from practice and training camp suggests he's looking good and even throwing with more velocity.

They say that every year about his arm strength. He's fresh and the arm has rested all off season. I like the roll that Brock did when he rolled to his left and hit Casey That play happened only because they respected the run and Brock could do it . Not sure Manning makes that play

-- There was some good and bad with Manning in, Good, I did see some excellent run plays and the check--down to the running back looked ok, the bad, sacked twice by Navarro Bowman, fell down once (pressure) missed Cody Latimer on the play near the goal line, what was really ugly is on that same play #81 was WIDE OPEN

I think Manning was fine other than 3-4 bad plays/missed opportunities...of course, that is often the difference between winning and losing. I try not to get too worked up over preseason games either way, but I was certainly hoping for a smoother start for Manning.
Here are some quick hitters for me:
-Antonio Smith was an underrated signing in the off-season...he'll be crucial with Wolfe missing 4 games, but even with a full roster, he will be a key interior pass-rusher (4 sacks, 4 hits, 35 hurries and a pass-rushing performance grade of 18).
-I'm guessing the RBs and coaches are going to put in some extra work on blitz-pickup this week.
-Once Sanders comes back, Norwood's roll will be minimal, but I've been impressed with his preseason...Caldwell might want to start packing
-When rewinding a few run plays, Paradis really jumped off the screen...what a quintessential zone blocking center. His ability to get to the second level will break some huge runs this year.
-A few more games like this, McAnus' nickname might have to change...I like McManimal, but Kenneth Farried might have something to say about that
-Hate to sound like a broken record, but bringing in Wade Phillips was the perfect move for this defense...Not only is his scheme and aggressiveness a better fit for our talent, but it also seems like the players are finally playing with that edge we've been looking for. I see shades of Seattle in this squad.

Cold cut anyone my cut I feel coming based on how they play Thursday
Lamin Barrow, Kapri Bibbs, Tevrin Brandon, Chase Vaughn ,Chuka Ndulue, Kyle Roberts, Corbin Louks, Trevor Siemian, Josh Furman and Nathan Palmer All could be PS players
Josh Bush or Ross Madison Which safety will catch the coaches eye if they keep 5 safeties. Maybe they keep the rookie Furman and cut both If that happens Madison would have PS eligibility Not sure about Bush has 4 years in the league and spent time on our PS last season maybe it's time to find another Job.
Curtis Marsh or Tony Carter. I can't see marsh beating out Carter at least that's the way they have played .Carter always gets on the field with the 2's. I would love to say Bye to Carter
Lerentee McCray, Reggie Walker, Lance Walker although L.Walker may stay until Wolfe comes back. Josh Watson has to show up next game Jordan Taylor played well in the last game but is it enough to make the PS. I hope so big kid with good hands. not real fast. could add weight and play TE could be another Sharp. Shelley Smith and Charles Sweeton and my big cut Zac Dysert Kub will keep his QB over Fox's the rookie out played him anyways.

Hello all I was in Alaska all week last weeks so I completely missed the Texans game but here are my Standard issue notes for the '9ers game
Von Miller is amazing (To avoid wasting anyone's time this note will be implied from here on out)
I am not feeling the piss colored 50 yard lines. Looks sloppy and forced.
The new jerseys look significantly silkier than last year (possible competitive advantage).
Talib's "body slam" looked like a text book response to Bush's sad college hurdle to me. :D
I was told we were running a "3-4" but every defensive front looked different to me.
I wa$ a little di$$apointed with DT'$ wait-for-the-ball-to-come-to-me effort ($hould be attacking).
*Although the DT bubble $creen $taple play made me $mile.
To give props where they are due: the 49ers' Bowman was absolutely everywhere.
Norwood stole the show last night. I'd like to try him in the vacant returnman position.
Buckle up for the Mcmanus experiment. It's going to be a hell of a ride. :?
Standard heroes: CJ, the D line, Norwood, and the 9er who intentionly fumbeled a pick.
If this defense keeps playing at this level we may need to revert back to the old 'D' helmets.

I don't think he's done as much as I think this offense is not a good fit for him.I see him fighting it and wanting to do it his way. I agree with you, he would rather force it to one of his favorites rather than involve the players in for the scheme, like Green and Lattimer that may be open. Hopefully when Emanuel is back in his favorites will be less targeted and it opens things up for him. I still think we are in good shape, but I'm ready for oz to take the reins, sooner rather than later. Next year for sure

Well we got a bit younger, Clark and Walker at 7 years each. Glad to see we got something for Clark rather than just cutting him. Following down the list, I see no surprises. :ugeek:

NO SETTLEMENT I guess Brady will be as hard and The League. I don't blame him he wants to be known as the best to ever play the game and this will give him a black eye. Come on Judge make a decision so some one can appeal and we can drag this thing on till next season and Tom will retire before taking any time off. Got to love it :x

Br*dy has already said he wants to play for 5-7 more years. He can't draw it out that long. If they find him innocent, I'll puke!

Dysert got the hook.

I thought that Siemian played better. Well, what little I saw. I didn't watch a whole lot of the second half of a few of the games.

Defense is looking awesome. Offense, not so much. But it could be smoke and mirrors and they come out playing a lot better than they appear at the moment once the games mean something.

I don't think dysert saw another play after his choke versus Seattle. He may have got a series in game 2 against the Texans, but I didn't see it. no tome against the Niners tells me that cut was in the cards for awhile now. I did like the confidence and control that Siemian has shown. He's a good fit

I have to admit that I didn't think OZ was going to be your guy after Peyton retires, but after watching the game Saturday he very well could be. I didn't realize the dude was 6'-8" tall. Holy cow, that makes it easy to see over the line.

Missed you last week SID. Good takes. Our two biggest question marks(O-line and D-line) seem to be working out nicely. Got my 54 Marshall white jersey the other day. Have a 58 Miller orange one already. My next one just might be a blue Kilgo, I really like that cat. I'm still leaning towards a blue 97 Malik jersey right now. He personifies nasty for this D.

Howdy Rock. He just needs to fall over the top for those 3rd or 4th and ones too. He actually has pretty damn good mobility for 6'8" as well, and he can make any throw.

The fact is Siemian in this coaches draft pick and fits his scheme better. Writing was on the wall when Dysert was demoted last week and didn't play. I agree he did get out played.

Welcome back Hop. Ya gotta keep your computer up and running. I read about the problems you had when the missus got on it. I'll share a lot of things with my girlfriend. My toothbrush and my computer, not so much. Lol

And I can read you like a book Icky! No, I don't share underwear either.

Oz is looking good. Color me impressed. I still want one last rodeo with Manning riding off with a Superbowl win. Then Oz can get a few.
