If I were Kap I'd take a few million paycut in this year of his contract to play with a winner and have a shot at a SB again. Then if he does real well......ask for Newton money.
Both Oz and Cousins had good games in a year where the elite QB of the past were all down . All but Brady. Kap was injured last season and yes he had a bad year but most was because of injury. Not saying he is elite b/C he isn't. But I think when healthy he is a step better than Cousins. I like Brock but I needed to see more of him before I give him the kind of money he got. Kap didn't get it from us but He has it why give it up? would Cousin give his back when the Skins fall to third place this season? No why should Kap? Now today he went to the workout to remind the 9ers that the locker room is split. He isn't really the problem just some players like him and think he can take them where they want to go. Others don't. The team is split He'll be a Bronco soon I think that's just My opinion can't prove it just what I hear
My guess he might be a Bronco but will have to come at a discounted price. All those things are true but it comes down to recent history as far as pay goes. Oz, no way, deserved 18 million for going 5-2 in the whole 7 games he played......but he got it. Kap probably deserves 12 million a year but didn't do well last year. Oz gets 18 million for playing for a SB team that had a defense that saved him. His numbers were at the bottom. His win loss record wasn't. And for that he gets what Brady and Newton are making....lol.
Kap wants a change of scenery and wants to go to a team that needs him. The Broncos want a solid QB of his type. He might have to take a paycut to get that. And also the Niners might have to chip in. We have no cap room. We can clear some but not that much. The bottom line it's a business..and I even think the deal will get done. But with concessions from both Kap and the Niners. We have little cash flow under the cap rules.

You would think that they would want to upgrade their running game with not just an offensive line upgrade but also new back. If they don't take one of the top backs try Kenneth Dixon Louisiana Tech. Can get him in the later rounds 4th where we have 2 picks for now. Not sure what choice they trade for Kap.
I'm thinking clady will be traded along with a pick to help make room for whatever Kap's reduced salary ends up being. This should also leave some room to pay the draft picks. We will see about Hillman, I don't think we can really afford him with our current cap situation.
If they trade him now he will cost 1,200,000 on the cap. If they cut him now the same, but if they hold onto him until June 1st then cut him he will cost us half on the cap in Dead money. I think they wait to cut him unless they get something they can't refuse for him. Now I think Kap could be had if they give him his money in bonuses like they did Peyton last season. They could also give him the money back next season when we have the money if he would agree to that. But I think SF will pay part of his money.

Thanks for the clarification Yi.
They can get rid of him at any time and designate him as a "post 6/1 cut". We haven't let anyone go by that methodology yet this year. They are holding on to him for a reason.

Sounds good to me. Denver will probably do that when they agree with San Fran and Kap. Doing it now would weaken their position on the trade.
