Sanchez expected to be cut. We save 4.5 million and a draft pick.

And doesn't it come to 3.5? I thought he got to keep 1 mil?

OnlyInUtah wrote:I'm going to try and analyze the live draft league tomorrow. If we only have a couple of teams actually playing this year I'm going to shut it down. If anyone wants to play or knows people that do I'll open it up to them and we'll proceed. At this point it's probably too late in the game for that. Anyone's input is more than welcomed but Icky warned me of this weeks ago and I have been too busy to do anything about it. Not anyone's fault but mine but life has been a bit of a challenge lately for me.

Not a big deal Ute. Real life comes first buddy. It's down to just a few of us here, but I still check in daily to see what input you guys may leave here. We can still do Springs pick'em with only a few of us, but FF wouldn't be worth the trouble. I will be around on game days to chime in, cheer, and bitch if necessary. I expect to see a few more of the old crew roll in from time to time, but I'm okay with just keeping up with Ute, Hop, Springs, and on occasion Rich and CK. I did my draft for my money league this week end and ended up with a decent team, but was only able to grab Lynch and Booker as my only Broncos. I missed DT, Broncos D, and McManus by one pick, or I would've had more. I think the guy in front of me was doing it on purpose, knowing I'm a Bronco fan. There are 12 of us and those three slid all the way back to within one pick of my turn and he would snag them (GRRR). We draft three QBs in this league (18 picks overall) and they have a higher value than most leagues, so QBs come off quick. I got Paxton as my third QB in the 12th round, thinking he will probably end up supplanting Siemian sooner or later. Siemian went in the middle of the 4th round. I picked 1st overall, and took Cam, even though he won't do crap in week one, but hey, he doesn't play Denver every week. Like I said QBs went fast after that, and I ended up settling for Alice Smith as my second QB at the end of the 4th round. I wanted Bortles or Winston, but they got grabbed just a couple of picks before me, so basically, it was Smith, Fitzpatrick, or Cutler, at that point. I almost went with Fitz, but I didn't pull the trigger. Hope that doesn't burn me. Marshall and Decker were gone, and I was able to get Maclin and Kelce later, so, at least I have receivers to go with my QBs. I was able to get Kelvin Benjamin to go along with Newton too. Starting Rbs went fast in the first two rounds too. CJ was 14th overall pick, so by the time it came around to my second pick (24th), Ezekiel Elliot was sitting there with that huge O-line and I couldn't pass him up. I had the 25th pick also and grabbed Thomas Rawls for my second RB, so barring injuries, I have a pretty loaded starting pair. I ended up getting Booker and Derek Henry later and finished up with Deandre Washington of Oakland to finish with 4 of 5 RBs that are rookies (crossing my fingers there). Okay, I'm rambling now. I'll check back in to discuss the first cuts, 'til then, stay cool. 8-)

I think we dodged a bullet here not trading for this guy. Between his "arm fatigue" and irrational reasoning to make "statements" about everything all of the time, he's nothing but trouble.

I don't know if not standing is the right way to fight this fight but It got attention and that's what counts. It's the same thing with wearing a BLM T-shirt. There will be more who will stand or in this case sit with him around the league. Protest is a right of free speech. I agree with what he says. Most Vets have come home from wars and have gone homeless. They don't hate this country but they have a fight and if anyone felt strong enough about their fight and did the same what would people say. If it wasn't a race thing would the country be that upset with him. Other have done the same Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf did the same thing. At that time people were upset that he prayed for peace at that time. I respected his right to do so as an American. Just as Kaep has the right as an American. a 1st Amendment right. Just as You have a right to have assault weapons and will fight to keep them he has the right to sit in protest. Better then burning down a building

This is the cut that the Vets get cut so they have a chance to hook on with other teams. we have 4 more cuts to make to get to 75. I'm guessing Hillman Or Bibbs will be one of them but which one?

Lol at "better than burning down a building".

You are correct sir except the assault weapon part...I don't own one myself....but this country is built so anyone can freely express their opinions. That's the beauty of America. He can say whatever he likes as it's his right.

Don't you find it odd though that a player that struggled last year so much and isn't showing anything worthwhile this year all of a sudden makes an out of character move to draw undo national attention to himself? He hasn't protested anything ever before now. It just seems odd...

In any event I could see the Niners cutting their losses with him for purely football reasons. He won't take a pay cut.....struggles when he does play.......I'm still glad we didn't trade for him as he looks to be a really high paid Sanchez spiraling in.

I just looked at OverTheCap and you're right.......we do take a million cap hit by cutting Sanchez. Colquitt we take a 750K cap hit.

T J Yates is familiar to the Kubiak offense. Yahoo sports has been floating that rumor for awhile now and I have been surprised they haven't already done it except when you mentioned trade...that would explain it. The Cowboys are a prime trade partner as long as they don't think Denver is going to cut him anyway. Bridgewater went down today what so far appears to be a season ending injury. And there's other teams QB needy as far as a backup. Denver might get their million back if they can trade him for something of value.

Amen. Take the 750K cap hit and cut the dude. He doesn't want a pay cut in line with his talent? No problem....hit the road jack. You've been replaced.

The Bridgewater article...they currently have Shaun Hill as backup and are looking to add another QB. Sanchez is looking pretty good to Dallas and the Vikings right now. Maybe Dallas will trade us one of their semi blue chip offensive lineman.....they are deep at that position.

I agree Springs. If it weren't for Von he could have been the SB MVP. He kept the panthers pent deep in their on territory in a defensive game. he did his part all year. No the years pre kick are down but the placement kept the returner from running them back in the SB and playoffs. He was classy even when they cut him. Someone will get a good team guy

Good seeing you still here bro. I have restrained comment on the web (for the most part ahem) on this clown (whoops) but freedom of speech is one of our fantastic rights and should be protected at almost all costs. However, in this guys case he is/was an employee on the job being paid 12 mil a year?? ugh. he was not out on his own time he was on the job. The NBA has a written mandate for standing (if possible and reasonable) for the anthem. NFL I haven't looked into but while at work unless (at least I still think it is) we are to follow their guidelines and policies and again unless it violates our right to religious freedoms. So, IMO if the chump wants to show contempt and lack of respect for the very liberties that allowed him to be where he is today and does it on his own time? Have a blast.

Sorry for butting in, but I at first had not considered the whens and circumstances of his bs protest. ahem. geeeesh I am getting grumpy. lol

Later gang and all the best.

Peace !
