I can't believe 3rd and 1and Manning fires a pass 12 yards down field and under throws it. DT should have had a TD pass underthrown and bad pass on the INT. Brock will have the ball in the second half I know it's 2nd teamers but the offense should be all kub's.
Yep...it may be preseason, but Peyton usually performs great in the preseason. Glad Brock is starting to hit his stride, case Peyton has to be replaced. I'm hopeful, though. Everything I've heard from practice and training camp suggests he's looking good and even throwing with more velocity.
They say that every year about his arm strength. He's fresh and the arm has rested all off season. I like the roll that Brock did when he rolled to his left and hit Casey That play happened only because they respected the run and Brock could do it . Not sure Manning makes that play
-- There was some good and bad with Manning in, Good, I did see some excellent run plays and the check--down to the running back looked ok, the bad, sacked twice by Navarro Bowman, fell down once (pressure) missed Cody Latimer on the play near the goal line, what was really ugly is on that same play #81 was WIDE OPEN
I think Manning was fine other than 3-4 bad plays/missed opportunities...of course, that is often the difference between winning and losing. I try not to get too worked up over preseason games either way, but I was certainly hoping for a smoother start for Manning.
Here are some quick hitters for me:
-Antonio Smith was an underrated signing in the off-season...he'll be crucial with Wolfe missing 4 games, but even with a full roster, he will be a key interior pass-rusher (4 sacks, 4 hits, 35 hurries and a pass-rushing performance grade of 18).
-I'm guessing the RBs and coaches are going to put in some extra work on blitz-pickup this week.
-Once Sanders comes back, Norwood's roll will be minimal, but I've been impressed with his preseason...Caldwell might want to start packing
-When rewinding a few run plays, Paradis really jumped off the screen...what a quintessential zone blocking center. His ability to get to the second level will break some huge runs this year.
-A few more games like this, McAnus' nickname might have to change...I like McManimal, but Kenneth Farried might have something to say about that
-Hate to sound like a broken record, but bringing in Wade Phillips was the perfect move for this defense...Not only is his scheme and aggressiveness a better fit for our talent, but it also seems like the players are finally playing with that edge we've been looking for. I see shades of Seattle in this squad.
