Interesting read...I think he has a point that the NFL has overshot the mark in the value bestowed on LTs...while they may be more important than any other single player on the line, the way Denver has performed with/without Clady has opened my eyes to the idea that the actual difference in value is marginal. Maybe it's more important to invest in solid overall line talent and depth, rather than devote such a large cap hit to one link in a chain. Truth be told, I wouldn't bat an eye if Clady is cut this off-season. I think Elway has proven that he can find moderately priced vets/rookies to plug the holes, and then use the savings to boost other positions of need.
What do you fellas think?

I agree for the most part. The position is being coached a lot differently than it was when Tackles were first valued so high as blind side protectors. There is more of an abundance of that skill set coming out now than there used to be.

Think about the teams that manning has played in the last 6 games, including the psotseason. Most of them have been good teams where as the other 48 is a more even mix of good and bad teams. This doesn't really show you that much.

Thanks Icky.
All in my FFL....check your scoring as apparently Yahoo made a mistake last week affecting final scoring in a game. There's no way I can check them all with my schedule but it would behoove everyone to check their own scores to make sure they are correct.

Here is my to do list for Denver:
-Who wouldn't love to see Von's first sack of the season come against Alice Smith?
-Mathis needs to have a MUCH improved game in blitz pickup and run-blocking.
-Can a TE make a dang play?
-Let's run up the score so Latimer can come in and get some much needed game reps
-I need to see at least one deep ball that's caught in-stride, Manning!
-Can't wait to see how Phillips uses Ward in this swarming defense.
-Stay disciplined on those Charles screens!
-LET THE CHIEFS KNOW WHOSE STILL RUNS THIS MUTHAFOXER!

I hate to say it, but I either want Manning to show he's still got it, or flame out completely and get replaced. The scariest possibility is that he continues to play just mediocre enough that his HOF status and fan loyalty make it hard to Kubes to bench him. That's the only thing that could truly waste this defense. Get it together, or get out of the way!
