Here is my 2 cents...I think Hop might very well be right that OZ would elevate this offense. And if we still running Del Rio's "ho hum, bend and bend and hope you don't break, thank GOD I have enough talent to make my scheme look better than it really is" defense, I would probably vote to give Oz a chance.
However, I don't think benching Manning is the best thing for THIS team right now. We might well have the best defense in the league...knowing how quickly FA, injuries, and age can alter a defense from year to year, I don't think you can waste a season with a top defense and expect it to come back strong the next year. Moreover, history is not kind to rookie/first year starter QB's trying to win a Super Bowl, even with dominant Defenses. Aikman won in year 4, Rodgers year 3, Eli Manning year 3, Rothlisberger 2 (despite having a 15-1 team with the #1 defense), and Wilson 2.
I think we have to see if Manning and the O can get on track and possibly lead Denver to a Super Bowl. Denver has 4 very winnable games before the bye; if Manning hasn't figured it out by then, make the switch and hope that Elway can keep this Defense intact while Oz develops.
