Forte has 4.3 ypc Hop and Clausen has 6 ypc so far today. Chicago was averaging 4.9 ypc coming into this game today and Denver is averaging 2.8 ypc. They are running the ball better than us.
That's the point. Coming into today they ran the ball 61 times for 298 yards between 5 runners Forte has 39 of those carries for 202 yards. The rest are backs like the ones we have here in Denver no one special. Still Fox and Gase have gone to the 7 man line like they did here last season 7 linemen and a TE. Is that what we have to do here if we run the Gase Manning Offense? I just would like to see Peyton not pass the ball 40 times a game.

Worthlessburger got hurt and might be out 4 plus games. That hurts the Steelers.

My point is we have considerably less ypc than the Bears. I'm blaming our line....not Gase who isn't with the team anymore. You have this deep set hatred for Manning this year Hop...lol. He might be part of the problem but the line play is the majority of it. We need some cohesion there. Kubiak tried a complete overhaul of the line with very little experience among them and really, other than Clady who's out, no real top players among them. I like the direction we're going but doing it all at once and expecting anything else that what we're getting is foolish. Let's see how the offense looks tonight. Maybe they are starting to gel. If not? Probably ought to go with OZ but I will put big money on how that will work out in the long run.

I think they may compromise on the pistol formation. Seems to work with the personnel we have on offense.

Sly is doing a lot better than I thought he'd be. This is what we were hoping for when he was drafted. Walker, Smith, and Malik are all chewing up O-lines, and it will get even better with Wolfe in the rotation after next week.

Well the first half went the same way as the first 2 games. Manning not under center. The pistol works if your QB can run not if he cant. Peyton thrown the ball 24 times we ran the ball 10 times. Leading rusher Thompson 3 rushes 11 yards. 18 yards rushing in the first half. Our defense again is the best defense I've seen in Denver in a long time

That should be a terrifying thought for upcoming opponents...Our backup front 5 Barrett, Walker, Kilgo, Smith, and Ray could start on a lot of teams

If they are going to go with the "Pistol", they need to bring the architect of it, Chris Ault and have him teach them all the subtle nuances. He has been hired as a consultant by several Pro and college teams since he retired from Nevada

Yeah, I think the Pistol has been a helpful adaptation

When the QB has less than 2 seconds before intense pressure shows up....sometimes less than one second....you better do something and running the ball has met with the same results. This is a horrible line for anything Hop. How do you run with a sieve for a line? No QB, no matter how mobile....can survive that without going to a quick release.

Manning can't run a bootleg...lol. Kubiak needs to figure that out or change QB's.
