In my opinion his best days are gone and what's left is damaged goods and uninspired. If a fire is lit under him by a new venue, he might be a slight upgrade over Daniels. This offense is just now rediscovering the importance of the position in the passing game, and in my opinion Peyton still hasn't utilized the talent of Virgil Green. He was finally targeted a bit vs the Packers and good things came out of it. I don't think Davis is an upgrade over Green, and sorry, but frankly. I don't get it.![]()
I agree that it would be a shame if the Davis trade hurt Green's growing role in the passing game. I figured Davis was brought in to replace Daniels as the pass-catching TE, which I like.
Daniels has been a flop so far at receiving and blocking. My guess is Davis will replace him.
I have to agree with Icky I think it's a bad trade because of Green. Mac You're also right Davises best days are behind him. I just hope his attitude is left in SF. He was calling out his QB. and I still remember the words of his old coach . Can't coach him can't do it. He does have more speed than the TE's we have that may help in the red zone but I still believe Manning was the problem. The resistance of the changing offense refusing to let his offense go altogether. Maybe now he can see that the team can win without him being the man they lean on we can become the best team in the league. The TE's went 6 for 105 this past game Green was 3 for 66 by himself. Need to use him more not less

Would you trade Shaq Barrett plus a mid-to-low-round draft pick for Joe Thomas?

That's why John didn't make the deal Shaq is the starter next season if Ware retires Noway we trade him for a LT when we get 2 back after the season is over. and the fact Harris is doing a good job now

Well, let him know I visited and best luck to all of you Bronco fans. Great to see Peyton moving around there like he's a kid again. (I hope this posts!)

Do the stats not count until the season is over? No1 in points allowed, No1 in points allowed per game, No1 in yards per game (No1 passing, No4 rushing), No1 in sacks, No1 in forced fumbles, No5 in interceptions but only No1 can also boast 3 TDs. Is there something I'm missing? No other defense has been more dominate as a whole or carried a team the way it has to this point. There is no argument. The D is back in Denver.

Yeah, I heard Thomas and a 4th for this year's 1st and 2nd picks from Denver. I'm guessing Denver balked at that price, and I don't blame them.

I think some people were expecting Seattle's defense to eventually reclaim #1 status...Denver's performance against GB should squash any more of that nonsense!

I'm still a little disappointed that he's never developed into a pass-rushing threat, but he has become an elite run-stuffer who sets the table for Wade to unleash the dogs on 3rd and long. It's nice to see a less heralded member of this star-studded D get some recognition!

Yeah just saw this as well. Really cool he got it. Pretty sure there is at least 1 Bronco in the running for this every week.

I think the 9ers ran a man-blocking scheme (could be wrong), so I am concerned about his ability to pick up the nuances of zone-blocking. He might need to check in with Manning on many of the passing plays to know what route he's running. But even if they only give him a small package of red-zone plays to learn and execute, I think he could make an immediate impact despite the limited snaps.
