Its been a few years back but I remember a college football player who was celebrating a TD and he danced backwards towards the crowd and backed into a police dog who bit him.

Can't remember what the outcome of that was. Guy didn't do anything wrong. And the dog was doing his job I suppose.

Did a Google search and found an Auburn player that got his hand chomped. Remember that one too now. Not the same game though.

Having sprained both my MCLs myself, I know that can effect you cutting back and forth, I hope he tapes it or uses some kind of brace to prevent the knee from shifting when making fast cuts, otherwise he will be back on the sideline. They may say 3-6 weeks but it takes more time for the ligament to fully tighten up again.

This was pretty stupid to do.

Could have been painful if the dog broke loose and bit his bare stomach. He probably won't get any jail time, but I bet community service and a hefty fine.

This is just a stupid law that will cause the average man his job in some cases he won't be able to get on. It clearly should be a misdemeanor. This football player will be fine if he invests his money right. but your neighbor and mine will be screwed for life.

You think it's okay to deliberately taunt a Police dog? Come on man....

I said it should be a misdemeanor not a felony. There are people who get felonies for things like that who will never be able to get jobs vote go to the service just for a stupid thing like that. I don't care if it was a police dog he belly danced for It should be a crime yes a felony no.

So George Karl is about to be fired again The Kings won't play for him. Could be time to retire again George. It's a matter of keeping DeMarcus Cousins or George. I hope they trade Cousins I'll be happy to take him he would be a big improvement for our team at the center position. any thoughts Nuggets fans

Do we really want someone that is stupid enough to taunt a police dog to be able to join the service, vote, ect? I'm tired of hearing the old, "He's young and made a bad choice" argument. You don't have to be old to make smart decisions. Be smart or pay. No more excuses for these stupid knuckleheads. Maybe more people will think about their actions before doing them if they are worried about the consequences.

Those sound like felony charges to me but do they deserve a Felony for that? Most of the men in the US wouldn't have called the police for that . They would have call their friends to brag so is that justice? or could this have been a lessor charge

I say charge them the same way they would charge a man for this level of sexual assault. Shouldn't be any different.

They have rights just like you and I . If taunting a police officer could take my rights then the laws should be changed sorry they are men and women not God's you sound as if you put that dog over a persons life or right to fight for their country. I'm sure all the Veterans are spotless with their words and acts before they went in and those who are in have done far worst things than taunt a dog. They became productive how come a dog taunter couldn't. Sorry I feel people are more important than any dog Even if that human is trash. But getting a felony has hurt many people in this country people who make a mistake like he did doesn't mean they are people who would become mass murders or bank robbers . They just did something stupid. A felon is a person stamped for life I'm saying this crime is not a top 100 crime in the USA. I feel burning a flag would be . But you can burn the flag and not get a charge. Taunting a dog stupid law to get a felony on.

If the dog would have bit him then he would have sued.

Don't taunt a Police or Service dog. Maybe not a felony but the dumbass should pay. Just because they are a sports star doesn't mean existing rules don't apply. These players think they are above the law and most of the time they get breaks you and I wouldn't. I don't give a shit if they are young. When I behaved like they do I got my ass tossed in jail when I was their age. I agree it probably shouldn't be a felony but disrespect for man and beast should not be tolerated. Dogs are animals and trained to do a job and teasing them is not only extremely low class but inviting your ass to get mauled.

My Father was in the Army Dog Corp in Korea when I was a kid and we had his service dogs around and teasing them back then was an invitation to get your ass bit and mauled and back then there were no lawsuits.....it was what you got for being an ass. Times have changed where you can sue anyone for anything now and the youth have no respect anymore for anything.

The dude should be prosecuted according to the law like you or I would. If you feel so strongly about it write your Congressman and petition to get the law changed. But don't defend some dumbass rich kid for thinking he can do whatever the hell he pleases. Any idiot would know not to taunt a trained Police dog unless he was just being an ass.

And I'm sick of the "everyone has rights" bit. You or I would have been arrested and prosecuted Hop. He's not above the law just because he's a temporarily rich jock. Having civil rights doesn't mean you can knowingly break the law.

I'm talking about the average Joe and the law I still think it shouldn't be a felony You don't take a man or a woman's rights away because they belly danced a dog. charge them with a lesser crime They didn't harm the dog or anyone where is the violence. I say again this football player will be fine if he invest well. but the average Joe shouldn't lose out on getting a job because he danced in front of a police dog. It's a stupid law for a felony. Not sure why you guys don't see it. yes it's a crime but a felony no.

I've said many times today it shouldn't be a felony but they should throw the book at this clown despite his football status. NO one is above the law just because they play in the NFL...period.

The dogs have to be protected because because as Utah mentioned, if they attack, which to them may be out of defense, the department is sued and the dog is probably put down. Those dogs are a major asset to the police department and help to keep law abiding citizens like us safe. Maybe this law is stupid but if the dog gets put down as a result of something stupid and then isn't there for the more important events we've missed out. In that case, yes, I'd take the dog over some privileged thug any day. Maybe it shouldn't be a felony but the fact is it is for now. He should be punished. And if you do something dumb that also turns out to be illegal, some of your rights are lost. That is the consequence, if you don't like it, don't break the law.

I think we are missing the bigger picture here. If the police dog had taken a bite out of the Raider, does the Raider taste like chicken?

it was COLD that morning. Takes a lot of UMPH to go out in the snow & ice to salute your fellow veterans.

Sorry that is the Those dogs are attack dogs they attack thugs all the time. They don't get put down for doing their job. The dog was under control but my complaint is the felony given for this so called major crime.

Everyone making a big deal of Manning missing practice yesterday but they forget that he hasn't practiced most Wednesdays so far this season. Kubs and Elway have been sitting him since the preseason.

Well, with the exception of the Green Bay game, he could use the practice. Get his butt more practice John.

I don't think more practice is going to help him. At this point in his career he knows what to do. I guarantee he knows the play book. It's just a matter of his body holding back.
