As always below are my standard issue notes on the BeenGals game:
Miller was held on virtually every play and still wreaked havoc.
CJ just runs odd & staggers like one of his legs is shorter. It throws off the D’s angles.
I loved watching the Manning sponsored ad for himself throwing at nets.
I’m somewhat surprised Daniels got up after getting absolutely crushed.
Cincy running on every 1st down was remarkably predictable. Cost them the game.
AJ McCarron has the most squishable pinchable dimples ever.
DT’s one handed hug pillow catch was a frozen breath of fresh air.
Denver fans took a while to warm up but when they did I got chills.
The Cincy WRs are pretty damn good at sideline out routes. Props are due.
Standard Heroes: Wolfe, Harris, Walker, and almost CJ (but he fumbled the honor away)
The McManus shank was one of the worst I’ve seen. It missed the net.
Oz needs to stop holding his elbow like he has an owie. Man up! AJ’s elbow was bleeding out and he was still smiling with those adorable dimples of his.
If you are going to fake a cramp it is better to grab your leg than your butt.
The D line has developed a new punch at the ball while tackling technique. Love it!
GO DOLPHINS!

I think that probably 9 out of 10 guys would have lost that ball. With that said, I wish he was one of the 1 out of 10 that didn't.

I will admit that was a solid hit and I am not sure CJ was not knocked out for a bit but I am still concerned about the fumbles that have crept into the team as of late.
I am also concerned that CJ may not have a full post season left in him. The guy runs very hard and is not afraid to lower his shoulders and launches himself into a pile. He is breaking himself in doing so and it seems every single game he is limping off the field. We need that bye.
With that said. I expect all RBs to hold onto the ball at all times. If the opposing team hires a sniper and shoots the RB on the field, I want the coroners to have to pry that ball out. I have never seen a fumble when a big RB has 2 arms on the ball. If CJ hits a tight hole in that situation I want to see that ball getting extra love. They run with two arms in practice up the gut.

I think putting Peyton at backup is a good move. He gets to be on the field and helping an should something go wrong he is ready to go. His knowledge of the game is an asset to Oz also. Oz has earned the start and not given us any reason to rush Manning back into service. That being said, every game that Oz starts makes it less likely Manning will ever start for Denver again. I really expected him to start at least one more game this season but I don't see the coaching staff pulling a 180 and throwing Manning in during the playoffs.

Wow! A Dilli sighting? Happy New Year to you too!!!!!

Springs, You said it perfectly. I agree that Manning is a great back up. Do you realize that if we had said that 2 years ago, someone would have slapped us. But its true... He is pretty much done. He might have a great game left in him and it nice that we could pull that rabbit out of our hat if needed.

Here is to us hopefully locking up the #2 seed and the 5th straight AFC West Championship on Sunday. Go Broncos!!!

And Happy New Year to everyone! Be safe and enjoy!!!

Well how you like me now. I stayed away and just watch the games play out and the QB battle play out. I love the way Kubiak has played his hand in allowing Brock to become the QB that I always thought he would become. He still has some growing to do like throw the dang ball away and stop taking sacks. But he is clearly the best QB on the roster at this time in Peyton's career. When the playoffs start Brock will get important snaps. He may not take us all the way this season but the experience is sooooo valuable for this team next season. Now looking forward we need a running back that will stay on the field. A 3 down back that will get 1700 yards on the ground and through the air. With the extra money we will have from Manning ( he will not play backup to Brock next season and I don't expect him to settle for that ) we can keep this defense together or bring in someone to make it better. With the O-Line http://dbron.co/8ni he will be the first step. Robert Myers is all man and should man the left guard position. He played right but I'm hoping that Vasquez can get back to his all pro way of playing. The zone blocking scheme doesn't seem to fit him all that well. But back to the game. Not sure we win this game as easy as we beat them at their place. They had to be down when their place was painted orange that Sunday. I had to adjust the color on the set before I realized it was the Chargers we were playing. This team is playing for their coaches life. Black Monday will follow the game. When the coach goes the players will have to audition for the next coach so the tapes will be a big part of that. They will play hard for their jobs. Go Broncos !!!!! Happy New Year !!!!!

Lol Hop, I don't think that anyone will disagree with you that Brock is the way to go right now. There was just skepticism based on his lack of game experience and a desire to not waste a top defense. I personally don't think Manning's injury is as bad as they have let on. I think they have been slow boating it back to healthy since Oz has been doing the job. My guess is they cut Manning this off-season to free up space to secure our Defense and some new o-line players.

I know we had different opinions but no one argues. I just didn't like being blamed by weak-minded individuals for their friends leaving the page. Birds of a feather I say. I always thought Mac was someone else anyways. If you can't take the heat my dad always said get out but don't blame others. I stayed away more because I didn't want to say anything about Brock and put the bad Karma on him. I agree with you and they have started with Robert Myers. He will take Mathis out and save millions next season and that will also clear up Money. Ware is in his final year. He may come back but at a cheaper price. You have to give Miller The money that Manning had so you have to cut corners elsewhere. Manning will go to a good team and that may make them look like contenders but I still think he had a great career so just retire before you hurt your legacy. Then I can go back to saying he was a great QB but I never liked him because he killed my Broncos all the time. Just fuel for the fire LOL !!!!!

Our situation reminds me of another legendary backup QB. Earl Morrill at the end of his career came in for a young and injured Johnny Unitas to lead his Colts to an NFL Championship. He also was a backup to an injured Bob Griese during their undefeated year Super Bowl run. Nice to have a Manning in the wings in case we need him

Haven't posted for a while and have been real busy......I was just told that if Denver lost last week, that they would have been eliminated from the playoffs......am I missing something..? If they had lost...they would be tied with KC and there is one week to go.....How could Denver be out of the playoffs with one more week to go and possibly win this week and KC lose.....doesn't add up. Anyone know the real scoop..? And wouldn't they be a wildcard if they did lose.?

Good to see you back.
Here is the situation: The Broncos clinched a playoff berth with the win over Cincy. We can go into the playoffs as a wild card or a division winner. We could have missed the playoffs if we lost to Cincy but that is no longer a possibility. Since KC has a better division record and our head to head is equal they hold a tie breaker over us. Because the AFC has some strong wildcard competition we could have missed the playoffs all together. Here are the scenarios for this week.
1) If we win and the Pats lose we will get the #1 seed because we have the head to head tie breaker.
2) If we win and the pats win we will get the #2 seed for being the second best division winner. We hold a head to head tie breaker over Cincy.
3) If we lose and KC wins, KC will win the division because the head to head is tied and KC has a better division record. We will be a wild card team.
4) If we lose and KC loses we will win the division based on record. In this scenario if Cincy wins we will fall to the #3 seed. If Cincy loses as well, we will have a tie breaker over them based on our head to head record and remain the #2 seed.

Hey Standard ! Now that I look at the AFC wildcard......damn, we could have had a hard time even getting into the playoffs if we would have lost last week.....but all the knowitalls at the local pub kept telling me that if we would have lost last week..that we were eliminated from the playoffs.....and in my calculations, that's just not the facts. All kinds of scenarios would be in front of us to make it into the playoffs. Such as a week 17 win for Denver and a loss for KC would have put us back into winning the division.....am I not right ? I only make this point because EVERYONE at the bar was saying that the broadcasters during the Cincy game kept saying over and over that Denver would be eliminated if they lost...? That just couldn't have been the situation according to my calculations........Just need to verify the facts before I go back down to the bar and tell everyone they're full of chit.

Peace, Love...Broncos !

WISHING THE VERY BEST TO MY DENVER FANS. I look forward to following the remainder of the season. It's been much easier for me since the Fins proved themselves incompetent (I believe that was in about the third game  ).

I left a long post in Switzerland with wishes for a great new year to all and hopes that we will be hearing from you during the offseason. Just because football is finished, does not mean speculation on what's coming is finished as well. Football is a year-round thing for me...

You are correct. You have full authorization to march right back into that bar and stop the music (and half truths). If we lost to Cincy we would NOT have been eliminated from the playoffs, it just wold have put us on the brink of being eliminated. We still would have become the first or second wild card team. In order for us to be eliminated we would need to have lost to both Cincy and San Diego. Also the Jets or Steelers would need to win out. The steelers hold a tie breaker over us and were expected to win out against Baltimore and Cleveland. So perhaps the bar folklore considered this to be a foregone conclusion. Here is a good roll up I found of Denver's malleable playoff scenarios from last week.

Thanks Standard
Always enjoyed your posts.
Here's to a great playoff run. I mean...after all..going into the post season with all 53 players in active practices and close to all being healthy...AND..we have the #5 best athlete of all time voted by the heads, as our back up QB...I'd say we have a pretty good shot at playing in the SB.

Here's a Hit Parade to help get you fired up for today's game. The third one was an Elway pop. I still say ol' 49 Dennis Smith was the most vicious hitter ever, and there is a lot of proof in this pudding!
