Running back needy teams coming up. My guess is Dixon and Booker will get snapped up.

Ok, the Gotsis pick surprised me. Not even sure who he is. What I do know is that Bill Kollar knows defensive linemen. I think they could have got this guy a round (or two) later, but I trust Elway/Kubiak/Kollar. DL was a need coming in to this draft, so the pick fills a need too.

Looks a little like a poor man's Wolfe...value might be iffy, but like South said, it's obviously a pick blessed by Kollar. He had the forth best pass rushing productivity score among interior players for PFF

Interesting news since last:

From Mike Klis:
"No shock: Broncos HC Gary Kubiak said DL coach Bill Kollar has been banging doors for 6 weeks for team to draft DL Adam Gotsis. #9sports"

"Elway indicated because he had last pick in each round he had to overdraft Gotsis and Simmons by a rnd. Gotsis gone end of 3rd. #9sports"

From D-Mac (104.3):
"The potential is silly and kollar loves him. Good enough for me"

"McShay said Broncos had a great night. Kiper said Simmons might be best pick in the 3rd round. Nice work John"

So, it seems Denver may have reached a bit with Gotsis, but the feeling was he wouldn't be there at the bottom of the 3rd. Even if he was, Denver then wouldn't have been able to draft Simmons, who is getting all kinds of love as s great pick. In fact, some people even thought the two picks could have been reversed.

Bottom line for me? The Broncos got the guys they wanted...specifically Kollar in Gotsis. Plus, both guys fill a need as well. We'll see what today brings, but at the end of the day, I'm trusting Elway. Hell, I've been doing that for over 30 years!

When the coach who developed one of the most dominant D-lineman in history (and helped make Jackson and Wolfe stars) is "adamant" and "banging on the door" to draft one player...that's all I need to hear. Great pick until and unless proven otherwise.

They wanted to copy us, and screw the Chiefs and Cowboys. Raiders traded in front of them too. Either that, or they will develop him for another team, like we did Oz...lol

Tyler Ervin RB San Jose St, went to Houston. I thought we might grab him with one of the 5s. Great speed, short not small. Brian Sproiles type...oh well

For the 6th, I still like Scooby. Of all our needs, I see Guard as the most important to double up on in the draft. So, I am also looking at Vadal Alexander G LSU. He is a bull dozer at 6'5" 325

Thoughts while watching Lynch's game against Ole Miss. This guy can really throw on the run...can't wait to see him sling it to DT and Sanders on a naked boot. He also has nice arm strength, although it seems like his accuracy is either pin-point or way off from throw to throw. I think he's got the upside of Jake the Snake and the downside of Jake the Mistake. Overall, I'm happy with the pick from a value and need standpoint. I like his college film better than I did Osweiler's.
