What is UP with the players losing their helmets this season? Every freaking game someone's helmet flies/pops off!

Too many players are wearing them loose and its causing a problem. When your head rattles around inside the helmet because its too loose, then why bother wearing it at all? It does need to be addressed.

I would think that an improperly fitted helmet could also be part of the reason why these guys are getting more concussions. Not just the fact that NFL is placing more attention on them.
Thanks, Kitty, for your observations as well.

(Sixth grade or so I think) Anywho it turned out the eggs that remained unbroken were those that were tightly packed in foam. and a hard cardboard exterior. Pretty much the same thing as a helmet.

HaHa hey Kitty we did the exact same thing in 5th grade. You didn't go to Bel Aire Elementary in Tiburon, CA and were in the 5th grade in 1975? We also used shoe boxes. I used bubble wrap and my egg survived.

If a player takes his helmet off on the field of play on purpose its a penalty. When it pops off because they aren't bright enough to wear the right size its considered incidental and therefore ok.

That is what I was referring to, yes.

A whole country away about Rye, New Hampshire... Darn! I used bubble wrap and my egg broke LMAO! I was jealous of the foam kids ha ha ha ~
That is pretty cool about the Riddell Helmets with the electronics that measure impact... I hope they are keeping a database and can tell in the next few decades how players were affected from hits years before. I was just thinking back in my drag racing days we always used Simpson helmets well actually and for motorcycles too... They seem to hold up a bit better then the football helmets. I wonder why?
