I think Denver gets the best OL in the first with the idea that one of the ILBs will fall to them in the 2nd Round. The way I see it, Denver can land Erving in the 1st and either Dawson/Anthony/McKinnley in the 2nd. One of those ILBs should be there.

Sounds good to me.

I have to go to Moab this week.....I just need to be back in time Thursday for the draft. Draft time I turn the TV on mute, play some tunes, slam down a few beers, and watch it both on TV and on the computer. Weird ritual of mine....lol.

They were saying Shane Ray was a 1st round 15-20 pick and the Monday before the draft (Thursday) he gets busted for weed in his car. Wouldn't you tend to be extra cautious before the draft? 3 days before? :?

There is talk on PFT that Ray could slide all the way to the 4th round. I think that's absurd, and I think his stupidity so close to the draft is equally absurd. That said, the question is this...would you want Denver to take this guy? If so, what round is he worth the obvious character risk?

Personally, I would take him, but it wouldn't be until the bottom of the 3rd. I remember Shanahan gambling on Maurice Clarett at the bottom of the 3rd years ago. There were some that questioned Shanny about that pick, but in my mind, a 1st round talent at the bottom of the 3rd is worth the risk. If Ray free falls, I would be ok with Denver getting him considering the leadership on the Broncos' team and at his position.

I think that Landon Collins would be a great pick if he gets there. I was wondering what everyone's thought for three or five picks that they would take at 28 depending on rise/fall, trades, and the expected Dolphin face plant - just seeing if CK reads all the posts.

I'm with Icky about a couple of them, Kendricks, L Collins, DJ Humphries, Erving and Flowers.

Would love to see Armstead mysteriously slide but know that's not going to happen.

I like all the names Yi, and yes Armstead would be a gift and a half... If we miss out on Kendricks I love Dawson in the second should he fall, moving up in the second for him would be worth another pick to me too

I've got the Collins boys going in the top 20 I do see Kendricks falling to 28. Not that teams don't need ILB but more pressing Needs will help the Broncos get him . Now if they draft him. Flowers is top 10 Erving will go to KC the need a center and the money and a tender on the fifth year will help them keep him around.

I went to lunch at Burger King today. Got a
Whopper with cheese and a medium fry. The exact total was $6.66. I ate it anyway but wonder if I somehow consumed an evil lunch? If I start speaking in tongue I am suing BK.

Ok...here goes my full first round mock. Keep the laughter to a minimum!

TB - Winston - QB - FSU. Pretty much a done deal at this point.
TEN - Mariota - QB - Oregon. I don't think it will be Tennessee picking, but I think Mariota goes #2 regardless.
JAX - Fowler - DE/OLB - Florida. No need to get cute with this pick. The Jaguars need a pass rush. Gus Bradely approves of this pick.
OAK - Williams - DT - USC. Best player available and solidifies the DL for Del Rio.
WAS - Cooper - WR - Alabama. Whoever is throwing the ball needs a reliable target. Cooper is that and then some.
NYJ - Peat - OT - Stanford. First shocker, but the Jets reportedly love Peat.
CHI - White - WR - West Virginia. There are defensive needs, but Fangio will upgrade that whole unit. Have to score points vs. the Packers.
ATL - Beasley - DE/OLB - Clemson. Falcons need a pass rush and that's what Beasley does best.
NYG - Scherff - OT - Iowa. The Giants need help on the OL and Scherff is the best prospect in this draft.
STL - Flowers - OT - Miami. The Rams also have a need along the OL. Flowers is a solid technician at OT.
MIN - Parker - WR - Louisville. The Vikings need a #1 WR and Patterson has proven he cannot be trusted in that role.
CLE - Shelton - DT - Washington. Cleveland needs a defensive anchor and Shelton can step in immediately.
NO - Dupree - DE/OLB - Kentucky. Also in need of a pass rusher, the Saints will be thrilled when Dupree falls into their laps.
MIA - Gurley - RB - Georgia. Beat writer in Miami says the Dolphins covet Gurley and hope he falls to #14. He does.
SF - Waynes - CB - Michigan State. #1 CB in the draft also happens to be one of the 49ers biggest needs.
HOU - Perriman - WR - UCF. The Texans need a WR to line up opposite Hopkins. Perriman can fly.
SD - Gordon - RB - Wisconsin. Whether Rivers is there or not, the Chargers need a RB in a bad way. Two Wisconsin RBs in the AFC West now.
KC - Collins - OT - LSU. KC was terrible along the OL. Collins can step in and help address this problem.
CLE (from Buffalo) - Grayson - QB - Colorado State. Boom! When all is said and done, I think Grayson will be the best QB from this draft.
PHI - Dorsett - WR - Miami. Perfect WR for Kelly's scheme. Blazing speed.
CIN - Green-Beckham - WR - Oklahoma. Character concerns aside, the talent is there. The Bengals need another play maker on offense.
PIT - Collins - S - Alabama Losing Polamalu naturally makes the safety spot a need. Collins is a lunch pail guy that will fit with the Steelers.
DET - Armstead - DT - Oregon. Losing Suh hurts, but now not as bad. Armstead is an athletic freak and will fit in perfect with the Lions.
ARI - Jones - CB - UConn. Cromartie's replacement...and is already better than Cromartie.
CAR - Thompson - LB/S - Washington. Great athlete, doesn't 'fit' anywhere. I think Rivera puts him at safety. Taylor Mays, but can cover.
BAL - Williams - TE - Minnesota. Pitta's health is too much of an unknown. Even if he's good, the Ravens can use a player like Williams.
DAL - Gregory - DE/OLB - Nebraska. Character concerns will drop him down the board, but he's the pass rusher Dallas needs.
DEN - Erving - OL - FSU. BPA happens to fill one of Denver's biggest needs. Beat writer Klis expects this pick.
IND - Goldman - DT - FSU. Strong DT that will anchor the Colts' DL.
GB - McKinney - ILB - Mississippi State. Rumor is that McKinney is the Packers favorite ILB.
NO (from Seattle) - Strong - WR - ASU. TE Williams would be nice, but Strong compliments Cooks very well.
NE - Johnson - CB - Wake Forest. A little undersized, but plays the CB spot much bigger. NE has a need in the defensive backfield.

Ok...thoughts? Rip it up as you see fit!

I'm with you Hoppy, but I also think that there will be plenty of solid options at the end of round two. I think it's possible to see Dawson, Anthony, or even McKinney if the Packers don't take him in the first. Get Erving and Dawson or Anthony? Yes please!

Life is good...our oldest graduates in on the 23rd of May and will be heading up to Montana State (Bozeman) in the fall to study Computer Science. He's a smart kid and we're going to miss him, but it's time. Communication is so much different than in the past...even though he'll be 10 hours away, it's not like we won't talk to him!

Football is about to get going...we have our camp the end of the month and then it's summer lifting and drills. We're hoping to have the base offense/defense/special teams in over the summer...should be able to pull it off. I've got 7 returning starters on defense and 12 that had significant snaps. Hoping for a good season!

Then the wife and I celebrate our 20 year anniversary in July.

Yeah, there's issues on every front and life gets crazy, but I'm pretty blessed!

How about you...how have you been?

I'm hanging in here...good to hear about Your son...I can remember payphones and they only cost a dime...yes it's changing faster then we can keep up. If we have a decent draft..we'll be knocking on your door. I just read an article that Cleveland wants our #4 and Marcel Reece for their #12 and # 19...that would be huge for us...I love Reece, but we never use the guy.

I still don't see Erving going anywhere but the Chiefs . They need a Center in the worst way and He will be right for them at 18 He leaves the board there.
