Now do we go defense or continue adding offensive needs? One thing about Elway is it's hard to predict what he'll do.

On another note I renewed the FFL this morning. You should be getting e-mail invites soon.

Unbelievable, this is why it's the Golden Age to be a Broncos fan. There is so much in this video that it's hard to catch all the subtleties. Here
s what I picked up

1. Elway was channeling Ricky Bobby - dude had to sit at the edge of the chair because he had a major chubby from what he just accomplished
2. JFE always deferred to Kube's when asked an a question about the composition of the team/player and development of each
3. This trade would have never happened had JFE not had the ammo to do this from the comp picks from his past draft successes
4. We totally fucked the Chorfs. Butt hurt and traded out of their pick, bonus for adding the Cowboys to the soooo close list
5. Seattle in turn nails the 9ers by hanging them with a QB situation they never wanted, Elway laughs the Don't eff with me laugh to the 9ers
6. JMFE is an adrenaline/power junkie. He lives for this moment

Congratulations to Icky, solid white hat. You called it and I doubted, good for us

Love your points 4 and 5 You stick it to your division anytime you can. Hawks and the Broncos are fighters and we war all year long to stay on the top. I was going to ask if KC was going after Lynch b/c the traded out right after the pick. Eagles should have hit the Cowboys but they took a 3 year QB

Now what are the thoughts on Lynch playing this year? Did we take a player in the first round that isn't going to do much for us? I just hope that Sanchez has a good year. I like the pick and think he is going to be a long term solution for us, just bummed we don't have a player that will start right away.

I also really like how cheap the trade was. A late 3rd rounder is nothing.

Hope we see the kid on the field game 1 - the sidelines that is. If he sits the entire year bonus for him as well as us. The team will be doing well and Sanchise keeps him with the clipboard. Hopefully that happens for a couple of years.

QB of the future for great draft value and saves a boatload of cap space in filling a huge need. John F***ing Elway is the Jean Claude van Damme of football executives...He just nut-punched the league.

Good to see you Eron! Couldn't agree more on your take. Sanchez is a free agent next season, so he can sign on as the veteran backup to Lynch, who will cost the Broncos next to nothing for the next 5 years.

Here's a question for you...is Elway a better GM than he was a player? It seems there is nothing he can't do...

Backatcha South...Hard to surpass Elway as a player. With a better supporting cast, he could have 4-6 rings now. I certainly can't think of a better player-turned exec in any sport, ever.

What should the Broncos do with their newly freed-up cap space? Pickins are slim, but I think Walter Thurmond or Donte Whitner make sense as dime safeties. Maybe Jason Jones to play that nickle interior pass-rusher. I wouldn't be at all disappointed if Denver picked up another vet WR in case Latimer continues to sputter. Hell, I could even see the value in bringing in Josh McCown to compete with Sanchez and Lynch.

That's a true statement...how many years did Elway do it on his own? I love Sammy Winder as much as the next Broncos' fan, but come on. I will say the Mississippi Mud celebration was one of my favorites!

I would actually love to see Denver extend Brandon Marshall this year. He's young and an anchor in the middle. I would love for Elway to show him the love for showing up and working even without signing the RFA tender. He's committed to Denver...and John says he wants guys that want to be here. I can't think of a better guy that exemplifies that.

Peter King's take:

It's not a long read (the part about Elway anyways). Bottom line? Pretty safe to say we're not the only ones that think Elway has this GM thing figured out.

Haha, I was hoping for a sexier pick, but I think there is lot of value in locking him up early. The whole league is looking to poach from our defense!

Thoughts? I like the pick of Lynch but If it had been Billy Mac and John picked him Today I would be fine with it 8-) The fact that we kicked KC in the backside sweetens the pick for me. Thanks Yi for your post went well with coffee. I think Lynch could be a starter before the season is over but again If Mark is playing well why would we place him out there. Start Lynch out at #3 and Move him up to 2 when he earns it. If we Draft the right RB in the second Sanchez is comeback player of the year. We have the best players he would have ever played with in his career. Mark knows it and has been the leader we want him to be since he was traded for. He want to prove to the league he can play if you build a team for him. Like Mac said Elway would have won more rings if he had a team and If John couldn't do it by himself. Let's go get a Back now John and put a foot in the Backsides of the division some more. The game is played all year long you get it YI good talk guys

When Lynch gets to Dove Valley today the one guy he will see there is Mark Sanchez who was there to open the doors and will be there to lock them. Kid can't learn fast enough. Pay attention Paxton Lynch.

Broncos like Braxton Miller Ohio State WR https://t.co/HjmaGSqA5r I have been the biggest Cody Latimer fan but he hasn't stepped up. When the guys all got with Sanchez to throw the ball around he choose to do work in the locker room than go learn his QB. He hasn't grown up to being a man and accepting his responsibility for himself or his team mates. I don't see him staying on this season. If they draft a WR he may be gone Stop partying and grow up. Wolfe said he was a party boy until Manning told him it's time to shelf that. Could be why Peyton didn't like Cody

Be interesting to see who slips to us in the 2nd. I can see a few names I like, because of all the big names that dropped out of the first. I wiil wait before making a prediction, just to see who continues to slide. People I'm hoping that make it to 63, Whitehair, Booker, and Von Bell. If Henry, Jack, Billings make it to us, they are all no brainers as far as I'm concerned.

Not a Cowboys' fan at all, but I can't help but like that move. Hard not to root for Jaylon Smith.

The Cowboys now have three edge rushers who won't be playing in the first 4 games this year, one of whom, that won't be playing at all. Good for Smith, but Jones and the "boys won't be a serious contender this year, even with Elliot. They will lose a lot of games 34-31.

Yep...my early pick for fantasy defense. Gus Bradley knows how to put a defense together.
