Couldn't be happier with the draft. I know people are still questioning Gotsis, but if Bill Kollar wants a guy, you pay attention to him. He made Wolfe and Jackson and helped Watt become the player he is today. I'm trusting that guy as it relates to defensive linemen all day long.

Lynch will hopefully sit a year and just get better and better. Sanchez is capable on this team. Great defense, great running game, Denver just needs someone to manage the football. I said it earlier and I'll repeat it now...Sanchez goes to the Pro-Bowl this year.

Simmons will step into Bruton's role and will supplant Stewart in the defensive backfield. This is Darian's last year with Denver unless he signs on as the veteran backup as a UFA next season. Simmons hits like a ton of bricks. He'll be fun to watch on special teams early on. It'll be even better when he reminds us all of Steve Atwater/Dennis Smith in a year...or maybe Mike Harden since he picked #31...

Booker will rotate in with Anderson and may very well overtake him for the starting job by the end of the season. I expect this team to run for over 2000 yards this season.

McGovern is the sleeper pick I think. I said before the draft that he'll be a plug and play for Dennison from day one. He's a strong SOB and will open up holes in the running game for a long time. Great pick.

Janovich is the FB I wanted. Another strong kid that loves the weight room. It will be interesting to see what his receiving skills are as he didn't do much of that at Nebraska. Absolute goal line/short yardage pounder though.

Parks is depth in the secondary. I'm good with it. He's got the upside that can turn him into a quality defensive back. What he does with the opportunity is up to him.

Dixon is Denver's way of freeing up $3.25M of cap space...nice job John! Can't wait to see this kid's leg at Mile High!

I for one hope Sanchez does not play in the pro-bowl, would like to see him in the Super Bowl  but I guess a nomination to the pro-bowl wouldn't be a bad thing. 2000 yards rushing sounds great to me, we just need better o-line play than we got last year. The way they played when Oz was in is what we need all season for the run game. I don't expect to see as much of Hillman this year, maybe his last if Booker steps up.

I can't agree with everything but I do agree with Booker and Simmons. I think John got the second best Back in the draft with Booker. He is a 3 down back and I'm thinking he will start the season as the starter. He just has to learn the playbook. 2000 yards may be a bit much but He should do well.
Simmons is a hitter no a big hitter but so is Stewart. I know This is Stewart's last year in the contract but that will be a heck of a 3 man rotation. I think Wade will come up with Simmons coming in when the defense plays nickel and replace Danny T. Stewart may resign for less money for a shot at a 3-Pete. Kollar is a good coach but he didn't make Jackson and Wolfe The defense that wade plays let his players do what they do best The coach put them in position to make plays not like when Del Rio made them play the way he wanted them to play. That was My understanding of Phillips D. I hope he works out but I'll just watch I think he will be a bust only because he's a second round pick. again My opinion.

Just a note, in case you weren't aware Hop. Watt, Crick, and Wolfe, and Jackson are on all record, praising the work Kollar did in helping develop their Skills, Technique, and Mental Toughness. I agree that Phillips philosophy of forming a defensive scheme around a players attributes, rather than making them fit his scheme, led to success as a whole. But, to not credit Kollar for being at least partly responsible for his players success, is a short sighted statement.

"He’s so experienced, he’s so knowledgeable and if you give him everything you have, he’s going to give you everything he has and he’s going to turn you into a great player," Watt said. "I’m very fortunate to have a coach like him."

“You don’t need anything sugar coated. You want it straight up. If you want to be great, you have to know what you are doing wrong. When you’re not playing great and someone is telling you, ‘You’re playing good’ but you’re really not, you’re going to keep playing that way,” defensive end Derek Wolfe said of Kollar Wednesday. “He doesn’t want mediocre, he wants great.”

I think they saw something they liked in Gotsis and targeted him. Whether it turns out the way they think it should is up in the air but they didn't pick him on a whim with so many DL in play at that point. I believe it was a deliberate choice for some intangibles we don't see or know about. Wade Phillips is a terrible head coach but the best Defensive Coordinator out there. Kollar is about as good as they get as well so I think they see a diamond in the rough they can mold.

As far as Booker and Simmons? They are game one players in the rotation. Lynch will have to sit and learn for at least part if not all of a season.

You named 4 guys Watt Crick Wolfe and Jackson. Of the four Watt is the only man who has that great talent that will command a double team. And he had that talent when he was drafted. Crick had his best season last year in a contract year. Jackson the same a contract year now wolfe is a baller but without the outside rush he would be a average pass rusher IMO. he has great instincts for the game but when the outside rush wasn't there in other years he was just a average pass rusher. They all have to say the right thing about their position coach. but that being said I am not saying Kollar isn't a good coach just not giving him all the love you are . I feel these players are what they are. and even with a great coach you can't get out of a man that's not there.

Current power rankings. Denver comes in at 4. That's not all bad, we had an eventful offseason so far. Arizona at 1 seems interesting. They had no fire last year, just kind of fizzled. NE will always be near the top with Brady** and Belicheat**

Compensatory picks should be big next season Denver could end up with 3 third round picks remember the comp picks can be traded next season to move up.

Yeah Siemian couldn't come because he took a knee at the half in a game when Brock got dinged. One play he's not a rookie . There are others who didn't play last season who are at camp. I just needed to let you know what the post was about.

We were speaking on a position coach yesterday and today I would like to get your thoughts on Greg Knapp. My thoughts are he did a great job teaching Brock but also learning from Peyton. Can he pick up and teach what he's learned as far as how to prepare for a defense. Peyton was all about preparation and reads. He was a master with working with his receivers to get their timing down. I remember Manning say the things we work on in may could win a game in December or something like that. With Kubiak and Knapp I think Lynch will play some if Sanchez fails. But I'm hoping he sits the season. Mark wins comeback player of the year and the Broncos relay on a great running game and a stout top 4 defense to get back to back wins in the Bowl. Thoughts?

And they all lived happily ever after! I hope this fairy tale comes true. The biggest change we need is on the offensive line. If we don't get better play there then the run stalls and whoever is behind center is irrelevant. Our offense needs to pull it's own weight despite how awesome the Defense has been.

We won't have a comeback player of the year at QB or a running game unless we fix the offensive line. It was beyond awful last year.

I like that Simmons kid more and more as I see him. I think he's going to be an animal.

Lynch will be like a fish out of water for awhile. The transition from college to the Pros is like night and day to a QB. He can make the throws no problem...he just has to learn the system, plus playing under center now, and the pressure from what he'll face now in defenses. A lot to learn in his rookie year.

Speaking of offensive line...Okung has played in 75% of the games in his career averaging 12 games a year. In the last two years his percentage was a little higher than that at 84%. We need a good backup for him as he never seems to play a full year. Sambrailo needs to be able to step in and hold his own.

Here is the depth chart at all positions as it currently stands. We actually look pretty good in most positions.
