I still think getting Davis for pretty much nothing for one year is a good deal. Low downside and a huge upside possible.

This is too weird! I just left a huge message for kicksie (congratulating him for the Broncs, of course)...

Well, let him know I visited and best luck to all of you Bronco fans. Great to see Peyton moving around there like he's a kid again. (I hope this posts!)

If a fire is lit under him by a new venue, he might be a slight upgrade over Daniels. This offense is just now rediscovering the importance of the position in the passing game, and in my opinion Peyton still hasn't utilized the talent of Virgil Green. He was finally targeted a bit vs the Packers and good things came out of it. I don't think Davis is an upgrade over Green, and sorry, but frankly. I don't get it.

I agree that it would be a shame if the Davis trade hurt Green's growing role in the passing game. I figured Davis was brought in to replace Daniels as the pass-catching TE, which I like.

Daniels has been a flop so far at receiving and blocking. My guess is Davis will replace him.

I have to agree with Icky I think it's a bad trade because of Green. Mac You're also right Davises best days are behind him. I just hope his attitude is left in SF. He was calling out his QB. and I still remember the words of his old coach . Can't coach him can't do it. He does have more speed than the TE's we have that may help in the red zone but I still believe Manning was the problem. The resistance of the changing offense refusing to let his offense go altogether. Maybe now he can see that the team can win without him being the man they lean on we can become the best team in the league. The TE's went 6 for 105 this past game Green was 3 for 66 by himself. Need to use him more not less

I like it because this offense needs mismatches...our top WRs obviously create mismatches with speed and/or size, but Fowler and Norwood are just solid guys who don't offer advantages in any one area, especially when the field shrinks in the redzone. Davis, assuming he hasn't lost too much speed, can run past LBs, yet still has the size to out-muscle/run over guys in the secondary. Since Welker and JThomas left, Denver is sorely lacking someone in the middle of the field who can create redzone opportunities. Davis might just fill that void.

That's why John didn't make the deal Shaq is the starter next season if Ware retires Noway we trade him for a LT when we get 2 back after the season is over. and the fact Harris is doing a good job now

I'll be sick if Denver trades Shaq...he's just scratching the surface of his potential, yet he's already almost as good as Ware (run-stuffing makes up for slight difference in pass-rushing ability). Denver can't afford to pay Miller and Ware 25-27 mil combined next year, so we NEED Shaq and Ray to fill that seamless 3 man OLB rotation. Honestly, I think Shaq is more valuable than our 2016 first rounder.

Anybody else notice that whenever the Broncos defense is bought up as being the best words like arguably, probably, most likely... always seem to be used? What is there to argue? Do the stats not count until the season is over? No1 in points allowed, No1 in points allowed per game, No1 in yards per game (No1 passing, No4 rushing), No1 in sacks, No1 in forced fumbles, No5 in interceptions but only No1 can also boast 3 TDs. Is there something I'm missing? No other defense has been more dominate as a whole or carried a team the way it has to this point. There is no argument. The D is back in Denver.

I think some people were expecting Seattle's defense to eventually reclaim #1 status...Denver's performance against GB should squash any more of that nonsense!

The team was actively trying to trade for Thomas right up until the last minute. The Broncos offered a 1stg round pick

Oh well...the line has played well in two straight games (although against so-so to poor front 7s).

Yeah, I heard Thomas and a 4th for this year's 1st and 2nd picks from Denver. I'm guessing Denver balked at that price, and I don't blame them.

We need those top picks for the future. WAY to big of price for a dude that might flame out in one year. Sounds like the kind of trades Snyder makes in Washington and look at them.

Not to put the cart before the horse, but here is how our defense is stacking up against the Seattle defenses of the last two seasons:
DEN 2015: 16 pts/game......261 yrds/game.......89 run/game.......172 pass/game......4.1 sacks/game........3 INTs-FF/game
SEA 2014: 16 pts/game......267 yrds/game.......82 run/game.......186 pass/game......2.3 sacks/game........1.7 INTs-FF/game
SEA 2013: 14 pts/game......274 yrds/game......102 run/game.......172 pass/game......2.8 sacks/game........2.7 INTs-FF/game

Wolfe named AFCW defensive Player of the Week! Against GB, he had 5 tkls for little or no gain. He had the highest PFF performance grade on the team. I'm still a little disappointed that he's never developed into a pass-rushing threat, but he has become an elite run-stuffer who sets the table for Wade to unleash the dogs on 3rd and long. It's nice to see a less heralded member of this star-studded D get some recognition!

Yeah just saw this as well. Really cool he got it. Pretty sure there is at least 1 Bronco in the running for this every week.

I think the 9ers ran a man-blocking scheme (could be wrong), so I am concerned about his ability to pick up the nuances of zone-blocking. He might need to check in with Manning on many of the passing plays to know what route he's running. But even if they only give him a small package of red-zone plays to learn and execute, I think he could make an immediate impact despite the limited snaps.

Everyone keeps saying he has to learn the whole playbook. That's not true, at least not yet. He's been a TE for 10 years in the NFL, I'm sure he is capable of picking up a new offense and Manning is good about staying late and bringing receivers up to speed. If Davis is willing to put in the extra work over the rest of this week he should be fine.
