Renck is just a reporter ,but a reporter who talks with the coach of the Denver Broncos. If he want to continue talking with the coach he wouldn't miss quote him without a retraction. If he post one I'll let you know. Again the pistol is because Manning can't read the defenses going back. Sorry on a run play Manning can't change the play after it starts. so why would he need to read. He has to catch the ball so he's not looking at the defense while the ball is in the air and after the catch he just gives the ball to the back. where does he read. He's in the pistol because he isn't use to being under center and has a problem with it. after the read before the snap Manning doesn't read much he may read the safety or a back before the pass but not on a run. Backs like to get a head of steam going before they get the ball. In the pistol they don't get that. Yes the pistol doesn't go well with the scheme Kubiak runs. Don't care about all the stats it doesn't fit. If they do well they would do better. The teams that we ran well against are at the bottom of the league in rushing defense. The past game they went away from the run first plan and passed the ball too much that's why the 17-0 lead. Yes the coach agrees with me no I agree with him for once
On passing plays, it's easier to read the defense out of the shotgun...passing is a huge part of the game...we pass much better out of the pistol, which is born out by stats, results, observations, Manning, etc. Pistol may not be a good fit for Kubiak's preferred system, but they already tried Kubiak's system and it was a disaster all around.
How about you tell us what scheme Denver should run with Manning (because a QB change ain't coming)
