We need to win a SB next week......with a good defensive performance and a mistake free offensive performance.....we can and will win.
Then we'll see how the cards play out after that.
true that but the game is a week away and the gameplan is in what else can we do. I say before the draft trade DT to get the 1-5 choice and draft a top RB there that was stupid.
Maybe not so stupid he has a big contract and can't catch more money for us
I'm with you on that one Hop. DT acted like a man that got paid, and didn't have to work hard any more. I watched him short arm passes, run half ass routes, and generally not give a shit. All that and he dropped too many that were right on target. I would like to see more of Bennie Fowler, and remember the guy Peyton told us about, Jordan Taylor. Wouldn't hurt my feelings a bit to see Elway shop DT in favor of hungry hustlers like them. Pretty much the only thing that could change my mind on DT, is a SB MVP performance. And damn it, he is capable of it.

This is a special team and I think all involved would be very interested in giving it another shot next year even if they have to maybe not earn that extra million they could get from another team.
Denver has and always will have integrity as a team first attitude that a lot of other teams don't have.

Elliott or henry you take a chance

The simple fact is, there is just not enough momey to retain an entire roster, even if you could just pay them the tenure minimums. There is no way to pay, a Manning, and a Ware, even at discounted salaries, and have enough left over to keep the unrestricted free agents from going elsewhere to get their big paydays. We are not talking about just a million here or there. We are talking about as much as ten million more each for Von and Osweiller, to get them to even consider staying. Trevathon and Marshall will be at least another 5-6 million each, even with a home town discount. As it is with every team, every year, tough calls will have to be made and the parting of ways , with some prime performers will be a necessity. It is better to say good-bye to past their prime stars, at peak salaries, where you have proven young depth, than it is to lose the core of your teams future, to the hungry high bidders. They will certainly come suiting for them, with more money than we would be able to afford. There are only two or thee big paydays in these players careers, and you can be sure that they will make the most of them. I trust Elway to work his magic, and put us in the best possible position, to win now, and from now on.
IdahoBronco1 wrote:And a pure example is Clady. Nobody has to sacrifice too much and good hell they make enough already. It's not like they take a little pay cut and then get hurt and don't have enough money to take care of themselves....My God, they're all already rich already. The poor football players couldn't get hurt by restructuring their contracts slightly to make another run at it.....poor, poor, rich football players...sad to be them. I can be done.

So you are saying that our star players would make ten million dollars more per year than they are already getting from the Bronco if they went to another team.....wrong math....they may make a million or 2 more with another team if they don't restructure...not 10 million more. All the players have to do is stay put and let the front office crunch the figures and see what they can do for the players. NO PLAYER will make 10 million dollars more than they already make by going to another team...period. Don't understand what your math is. Yes there will be great offers for the best players on the Bronco team....but, by simply restructuring their contract for one more year to see where it can go.....no player is going to miss out on an extra 10 million dollars....makes no sense.

Personally, I think he should give us a free year or two. Not that that would really happen. Clady is a beast but he has to be on the field. Missing every Superbowl is HUGE!

This is exactly what he wanted. He's been trying to get cut since he was drafted. I bet his act cleans up fast when he gets to whatever team he made an under the table deal with. His past troubles gave him the perfect setup to pull this kind of stunt and the receiving team knew that and probably helped suggest it.
